Countdown To Chinese New Year

Just a fortnight more to go before the tong-tong-chang-ing day, I suddenly feel the surge of deplorable to-dos. More projects in mind still looming. Uncertain when to start, I will try to trigger these issues after Chinese New Year. I haven't start decorating my house until today. Just after 'work', I will do some garden work. The pearl grasses in the garden, centre-part is in a sad state. They became yellow, as a result of an illness (I guess). I am not sure how to remedy these, but I hope...

Bro’s Birthday, 2012 Among Other Things

We both woke up late, it was already past noon, and our plans is still on - watching an apocalyptic movie, 2012 on a non-apocalyptic day in Tropicana City Mall! Bee got coupons of Subway, and we both get 6-inchers and pay only drinks and extras. It was a quickie though as we were only half hour away to screening. Since we were both fast eaters, we made it early to the queue. There weren't that many visitors as maybe it was still early in the noon. Our show eventually starts at 2pm. I...

Sis Birthday Weekend

This is my first time celebrating my sister's birthday since 10 long years! I did not see her grow up and in an instant she is now a grown up dame. It was much of a family gathering and for the first time we are complete with Yen in our circle as well. My sis invited 6 of her besties. Dave however couldn't make it because of his EP. Too bad he can't have his regular dose of sugarcane this time. As for relatives, only Tiffie, Wooi & Chloe with Uncle Choo & Aunt Siew Moi attended. My...

Mooncake Festival 2009

Mooncake Festival aka Mid Autumn Festival was special this year. Special cos I was home celebrating it. Also special cos mom is doing all the goodies. Missed those goodies for many years! This year besides taking some orders from friends and relatives, mom did quite a variety of mooncakes, or should I say moon-jellies? As time changes, traditional way in doing traditional dish changes too. Upon modernisation, mooncakes has transitioned from well, cakes to jellies stuffing them with variety...

Belated Birthday

Happy birthday to me. I am 31 now, old and penniless haha. Well, I had things for a change this year, and it was the opportunity to celebrate my birthday with my family after 10 long years in hiatus. I missed the days of celebrating birthdays in England with my buddies. I never forget the memories of celebrating my birthday there during the peak of the summer where we were free to roam with our polo shirts and khaki pants grilling BBQ or satays in the open air at the compound of my house. Damn....

Sorrow Via the Webcam

Is Chinese New Year, and I'm still stuck in here. Air ticket sold so fast like hot cakes. I did my ticket hunting in November, and the tix are all booked up till January. Even February's tix is scarce and pricey. I think i am gonna miss this CNY trip home again this year. Meet up with my cousins via the webcam. Chat about camera. Feeling really homesick while chatting with them. Sis and mom, everyone in the house enjoying the holiday season while I am sitting ducks in my quiet room in a...

I wasn't born then but my dad was. Bidor was nothing but a small mining and agricultural town with scattered Chinese new villages, remnants of the colonial past. Township was situated at an intersection where two rivers meet and just up north of the intersection lies the main federal trunk road of Ipoh-Kuala Lumpur that divides the township into the east side and west side. The centre of township predominantly Chinese, dwelled in the west and scattered small Chinese new villages including...

Protected: Happy Birthday

Today is my babe's 26th. Sorry I cannot be there cos I am still stranded here. I will make it up to you when the time comes. I promise. Happy Birthday...

Dodgy Florist Refunded Me

I lamented about a dodgy florist that ruined my Valentine's recently. That dodgy florist refunded me at last. I owe this to the effort of my baby for tirelessly arguing and pestering the florist for refund. I cannot do much because I am not in Malaysia, and the best thing to rid this scum is by being there arguing face to face. I'm sad to say that this will be my last getting my flowers from this florist. Things wouldn't be that bad if they are consistent in running their business. They...

It’s My Hometown Baybeh

Google Earth updated their overlay on my hometown recently, and I was so damn thankful that my hometown was mapped in their systems at last. I have been waiting for very long to be honest even since GE was released with their version 1. The map was actually a second overlay being overlapped on the existing one. The existing one only covers the east side of Bidor, that is the Chinese cemetery, part of the highway exit and all along to Kg.Poh and Gepai Falls. Whereas to the south, the first...
