Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM

I acquired Canon EF 50mm f1.4 USM in February 2008 for the price £191.98 via eBay. Not a second hand but new. It was indeed a bargain! This is actually my first prime lens with Canon as my the other wide-angle prime lens is Tokina. I have long surveying for this one and I cannot afford getting f1.2's as they are too dear. This lens is pretty standard for a prime type offering quality and lightweight portability The build consist of two high refraction elements that annihilates astigmatism...

Lens Sweeping

Swept some lens again, this time a Canon 50mm f/1.4 and a Sigma 105mm macro lens in ebay. Got an awesome deal, almost half the price of RRP. Thanks to my addiction to lenses now, I am splurging money more than before. Since photography is an expensive hobby, I am hoping that these purchases are worthwhile for present and future. I am not sure when will my interest last, but hoping that it will be sometime before retiring from this. With continuous EOS bodies being released every quarterly,...

Sigma 105mm f2.8 DG Macro Lens

My lens collection just expanded again today with this gem, a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG macro lens which is a Canon fit brand new for £188.00. I got this for a bargain in where else if not eBay. This marketplace never fails to score good hauls for my collections be it photography and mecha collecting. This macro lens was recommended by Sing, a colleague who is an avid Nikoner who have said good things about this lens. Upon researching it, Sigma 105mm f/2.8 DG scored very good ratings in Fred...

Dodgy Florist Refunded Me

I lamented about a dodgy florist that ruined my Valentine's recently. That dodgy florist refunded me at last. I owe this to the effort of my baby for tirelessly arguing and pestering the florist for refund. I cannot do much because I am not in Malaysia, and the best thing to rid this scum is by being there arguing face to face. I'm sad to say that this will be my last getting my flowers from this florist. Things wouldn't be that bad if they are consistent in running their business. They...

Canon Lenses

I am going nuts! Out of some free time I have just helped myself compiling a list of Canon lenses based on categorization. The categorization was split into fixed focal lengths (prime lens), zoom lens, tilt & shift lens, macro lens, IS lens, and extenders. The list was meant to be fun for reference, and perhaps it could be a comprehensive list for future wish lists. Fixed Focal Lengths (Prime) Fixed focal length lenses generally offer a wider maximum aperture than zoom lenses. From...

London Brief Visit

Went to London today to attend some important stuff. On the way there the weather was cloudy and gloomy. Occasional drizzle occurred in the areas entering London. We wondered around Chinatown and Trafalgar Square. Can't do nothing much as the weather worsen, just walk around Trafalgar while waiting for our stuff. Also lingered around St.James park. The park is crowded with unusual presence of police in cars, beat bobbies, and bicycle! Here are some pics taken with my N95. Too bad I...
