Codename J.O.H.N: Destination Perak

My day was shocked and shattered by the news of the ‘collapse’ of my homestate; Perak. The usual browsing routine suddenly became lifeless as I was stoned in front of my monitor reading ‘simplified’ frontpage of Malaysiakini. The ‘simplified’ page was due to high traffic earlier in the morning surging towards the site by die-hard Pakatan supporters.

It made my ‘day’ for awhile as I usually glued to my PC this hour but my normally fun routine became almost like a sort of ‘mourning’.

Since I have awaken halfway ‘due process’ in between the events, I was speechless. Believing it was a mistake, I surfed to Harakah, Malaysia Today, Malaysian Insider and I said ‘Hell, no!’. All the pro PR sites are serving the same news – Pakatan Rakyat Perak ¬†under siege by the BN frogmen unit under the codename J.O.H.N.

J.O.H.N (Jamaluddin Radzi-Osman Jailu-Hee Yit Foong-Nasarudin Hashim) was spearheaded by Najib and Zahid Hamidi and the unit consists of 2 PKR flip-floppers, 1 DAP sulker and an unprincipled ex-defector from UMNO.

Here are the chronology of the event;

10.45am: Members of the media rushed over to Jelapang assemblywoman Hee Yit Foong’s house in Taman Ehsan after being tipped-off that she might give a Press conference. It turned out to be a false alarm but she was reported to have later confirmed her defection to the BN by joining the MCA.

12.30pm: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin called for an emergency press conference at his office at 1pm but was postponed with no reasons given. However, word has it that he was to announce the dissolution of the Perak assembly.

1.40pm: The wire services issued a flash that Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is calling for a Press conference at 4pm in his Putrajaya office, presumably to make an important announcement on the political status of the Perak Government.

2:10pm: Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah arrived at Istana Kinta. Exco members Tai Sing Ng and Mohd Zainuddin Mohd Yusof who arrived at the same time were barred from entering the palace.

3pm: Members of the media rushed to Istana Kinta after learning that Nizar Jamaluddin is seeking an audience with Sultan Azlan Shah.

3:50pm: Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohammad Nizar Jamaluddin arrives at Istana Kinta

4:00pm: Nizar told the NST that he has won an audience with the Ruler 5pm. Nizar is believed to be seeking for the dissolution of the Perak State Assembly to clear the way for a snap state election.

4:00pm: Senior exco member Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham arrives at Istana Kinta but is barred barred from entering palace. He gives a P/C saying the only democratic way to resolve the political turmoil is by dissolving the state assembly and calling for snap elections.

4:10pm: Perak BN assemblymen are assembling at Najib’s office.

4:10pm: Bota Assemblyman Nasarudin Hashim makes surprising appearance at Najib’s office. Also making a surprise appearance is DAP Jelapang assemblyman Hee Yit Foong. Two so-called independent assemblymen who quit PKR, Behrang assemblyman Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi and Changkat Jering assemblyman Mohd Osman Mohd Jailu, are also present.

5:15pm: Najib announces defections of four PR assemblymen into BN and declares that BN has the majority of state seats to form a new Perak Government.

To be honest, I never imagine the worst could happen. The invincible hands of Najib and his henchemen must have been working actively day and night ever since the 8th March GE hence their success today.

I was taken aback by the events and more surprisingly, a DAP assemblywomen with 20 years experience in the opposition also can be part of this ploy is simply unbelievable.

And Nasarudin must be the most disgraceful man in the history of Malaysian politics being a defector only for 10 days. I sensed that Najib has carefully crafted a plan by deliberately planting Nasa as a trojan horse to boost DSAI’s overconfidence temporarily in his comfort zone before snapping them back all of the sudden as a plot to demoralise DSAI and Pakatan Rakyat, thus shaming all of them.

His plan might ha
