Langkawi Trip (D5): Leaving Langkawi

I had sleepless nights as I worried about getting up late I guess. I woke up much earlier than my mobile phone's alarm. My flight is 9.25am and Dave's flight to Singapore is 8.15am. I get up completely at 6.30am. Did abit of tidying such as 'disposing' the bed-sheets and pillow cases in the bin liner with Dave. Soon after that we scrambled out of the yacht with our stuff and bundled them in the car. I went to the bathroom for some 'morning call' duties and was soon out around half past 7....

Langkawi Trip (D4): Sail & Mast Inspection

Saturday, 5/12/09 - Woke up early though it was supposed to be a lazy Saturday morning. We had one more task at stake, sorting the sails and sail lashes. Worried that the high noon hot sun is going to toast us for good, we got our assess off the comfy cushion for some proper grilling in the store cabin accompanied by dust and grit. Just before doing the sail inspection, we did some minor sorting out of the ropes on the sail mast. What was supposed to be a 15minute work became almost an hour...

Langkawi Trip (D3): More Wiring Work

Friday, 4/1/209 - As wiring was accomplished yesterday, today is going to be a one man show for the yachmaster itself as Dave is going to work on his engine room alone. Alone as the room only permit one entry at one time. Since the engine is a big boy itself imagine how much space he had taken in that puny small room of a 39 footer yacht. I only act as backup when Dave needed me to shove those cables in. We managed to do some isolation troubleshooting on unwanted cables to the engine. It...

Langkawi Trip (D2): Working On Yacht Lighting Systems

Thursday, 3/12/09 - Woke up early around 8am. After doing some bathroom routines, we went to the marina office to get my own internet access to the marina's wifi. The access cost me RM18, for the whole week. These smart asses does not allow internet access sharing for a single account. That is why all attempts to use Dave's access the day before was proven futile. We went back to the yacht to chill before working. I got to try my internet access. It does not work for me at the beginning and...

Langkawi Trip (D1): Sorting Stuff @ Boat Work

Wednesday, 2/12/09 - Woke up nearly 10am, rushed to the marina office bathrooms to 'clearout'. Quickly grabbed some slippers from Petronas store then we had a quick breakfast at Telaga Harbour KFC. Morning was free and easy as we chilled at the yacht doing some mundanes. We skipped lunch as we had a late breakfast, could be easily treated as a brunch. Not long after that we did some sorting up. Previously we had sorted the stuffs roughly under the bench and stored them there before we left....

Puduraya-LCCT-Telaga Harbour, Langkawi

I left early today making way to LCCT. This is my first time actually 'trying' out a coach ride to LCCT. Woke up as early as 6.30am to ready myself. I had with me is 2 bags - a large and regular. Large one contains clothes and toiletries while the second one is packed with my gadgets - lappie and DSLR. So, I boarded my coach for the 9am trip to Puduraya from Bidor. The journey was smooth and the weather is fine. I hopped out from the coach at around 11.15am, a distance away from Puduraya...

Down To KL (Day 1)

I left Bidor at 3.15pm, heading towards KL. The weather was fine along the way despite the fact that it was being rainy daily. Upon reaching the entrance of KL, there was a sudden surge of traffic heading towards Jalan Duta (as usual). Bro called me at 4.30pm telling me that he just started his journey and stranded in LDP. I told him it was OK, cos' my coach still need at least 30 mins to struggle through the bottleneck. Eventually, reached Pudu, hopped off and walked towards Shell. It was...

Visit to Sungai Klah Hot Springs Park

Sungai Klah Hot Springs Park (SKHSP) is new to me, but Sungai Klah itself is not. Since it's inauguration in 2003, I only heard about this place popularity via the news. Sungai Klah brought lots of memories of my old scouting days in secondary school where we used to camp in Lata Bongsu, a small rapids (small waterfall) situated across the road from SKHSP. There was a camping ground that we used to camp and we jungle-trekked at night around the plantation. Back in my scouting days in the...

Langkawi Visit Day 3: Langkawi Vista

We cancelled our plans to go to Rebak and decided to do some sightseeing. Our first destination is to find Mahsuri's Tomb/Mausoleum. Located in the heart of Langkawi island, this mausoleum was surrounded by villages with shady trees and picturesque paddy field. To be...

Langkawi Visit Day 2: Rebak Visit

Visited Rebak Island today. To get there, you will need to travel on a water taxi, that can accomodate 20 passengers at one time. The resort that owns Rebak is Taj Resort. If I'm not mistaken they are an Indian company. The boat trip took us 15 minutes. The route to Rebak will bring you past small archipelagos surrounding Langkawi. The weather is awesome, so you can see the horizon scattered with boats and small...
