TransMY Showcasing At Malaysia International Toy Fair (Day 2)

Day 2 kick started briefly after the doors were open for public. As for TransMYians, they need to unload the stuff back to the tables again. As we addressed this issue in our previous post, we dare not take any risk by leaving our stuff out in the open. Not to sound biased or judgemental, we have seen what real security is like in Queensbay Mall during the Revenge of The Fallen Transformers Expo that we were involved in last year. The real security that we are talking about revolves around...

TransMY Showcasing At Malaysia International Toy Fair (Day 1)

Earlier the night before, TransMYians Kosmonaut and Wan De Real has been scouting the area to to see how the space looked like so that they could decide how the layout plan would be for the next day. Most members were there as early as 9am but they were not permitted into the premise yet. Maybe the organisers had last minute work to carry out. Upon entering, the first thing that our team was shocked that no tables were provided. We summoned the organiser and requested for tables. The...

TransMY Team For Malaysia International Toy Fair

Here are further updates for the event. Though being invited in a very short notice, TransMY managed to pull it through. After the meeting in Amcorp last Sunday, all members involved have conversed deeply in the subject and the result is more and more exhibits and participation have been pouring in after the announcements and discussions in the threads. The update below combined the first wave and second wave of contributors. Here are the lists so far: Wan_De_Real will contribute all his...

Happy Duan Wu Festival

Bakzhang time again which is one of my favorite Chinese festivals of the year. Why i love Duan Wu? Is all down to the dumplings of course. While typical Malaysian Chinese had the normal glutinous rice in black sauce filled with meat, salty eggs and bits & pieces of grain, me & my family is enjoying the Indonesian Chinese version. Seriously, my mom can make around 3-6 types of bakzhang but my favorite has to be the marinated minced meat in glutinous rice. The minced pork meat is...

Pai Ti Kong

Today is Pai Ti Kong (Pray Heaven/Sky God aka Jade Emperor, 拜天公), a Hokkien/Minnanese culture celebrated for more than a millennia now. As for us Hokkien's, PTK is day of remembrance to God the almighty which is the Taoist equivalent to Allah. His close associate is the Kitchen God who did reporting to him every year of how well 'behaved' the tenants are. Well, those are the beliefs anyway. We didn't miss out sugarcane as this plant is a symbolic plant for the Hokkien. The sugarcane...

B’s Visit, Post CNY, Pre PTK

Picking bee from KL in a bus for the first time. Bee not driving as her car was being serviced. I took the earliest bus and reached Pudu right before noon. Prowled around while waiting for bee. Not knowingly that Bee took a cab from Masjid Jamek instead of taking the LRT to Plaza Rakyat station, I immediately got a call from her. She is already there. Without wasting much time, I hurried to Bee. She had just unloaded her bag, and phwoarr...it was a 'flying' bag! I drag be along while she...

Second Day CNY

Woke up just before noon. Relatives arrived as early as 11am. Soon we hear loud chatting and mutterings coming from uncle's house. 2nd aunt, Chong Lee & Mui Sim brought their baby along. Took some pics and mingle with more visiting cousin to our room. Ah Beng arrived for awhile as he needs to rush back to Teluk Intan to his wife's side. Chong Lee and wife can't stay that long either, and not long after that everyone assembled at uncle's place. Lunch then served with everyone randomly...

When Cupid Wrestles With Tiger

It is not surprising that Valentines Day was meant to be celebrated with loved ones and the same applies to the Chinese New Year where family became the ultimate priority. But these two occasion usually refer to the same kind of love but in a different form - Valentine is for your lover and Chinese New Year for your family. But this year, Cupid is on a collision course with Mr.Stripey the Tiger. Although it applies to only Chinese people that celebrate Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year,...

Langkawi Trip (D5): Leaving Langkawi

I had sleepless nights as I worried about getting up late I guess. I woke up much earlier than my mobile phone's alarm. My flight is 9.25am and Dave's flight to Singapore is 8.15am. I get up completely at 6.30am. Did abit of tidying such as 'disposing' the bed-sheets and pillow cases in the bin liner with Dave. Soon after that we scrambled out of the yacht with our stuff and bundled them in the car. I went to the bathroom for some 'morning call' duties and was soon out around half past 7....

Langkawi Trip (D4): Sail & Mast Inspection

Saturday, 5/12/09 - Woke up early though it was supposed to be a lazy Saturday morning. We had one more task at stake, sorting the sails and sail lashes. Worried that the high noon hot sun is going to toast us for good, we got our assess off the comfy cushion for some proper grilling in the store cabin accompanied by dust and grit. Just before doing the sail inspection, we did some minor sorting out of the ropes on the sail mast. What was supposed to be a 15minute work became almost an hour...

Langkawi Trip (D3): More Wiring Work

Friday, 4/1/209 - As wiring was accomplished yesterday, today is going to be a one man show for the yachmaster itself as Dave is going to work on his engine room alone. Alone as the room only permit one entry at one time. Since the engine is a big boy itself imagine how much space he had taken in that puny small room of a 39 footer yacht. I only act as backup when Dave needed me to shove those cables in. We managed to do some isolation troubleshooting on unwanted cables to the engine. It...

Langkawi Trip (D2): Working On Yacht Lighting Systems

Thursday, 3/12/09 - Woke up early around 8am. After doing some bathroom routines, we went to the marina office to get my own internet access to the marina's wifi. The access cost me RM18, for the whole week. These smart asses does not allow internet access sharing for a single account. That is why all attempts to use Dave's access the day before was proven futile. We went back to the yacht to chill before working. I got to try my internet access. It does not work for me at the beginning and...
