Facebook’s New Face

For those who haven't got your new Facebook layout, you might be in the queue. Seems like Facebook is doing it stage by stage. I got mine 'activated' yesterday (Friday). The latest layout had not much difference apart from the menu placements. On other words, they look pretty 'slimlined' Here is the news quoted from AP; "Facebook is redesigning its site yet again, this time to better emphasize applications, games and search. Links and items have moved around the home page as Facebook...

My EPN Terminated

I received a termination email today from EPN. They told me that I am not driving them any traffic. Yes, I admit part of that was true. My only sole blog that runs on EPN is my real estate blog and that blog was hacked few weeks ago. Not only they managed to temper in my account but they also manage to delete the whole posting that I have done over the years. My SQL database for that blog was literally wiped out. I managed to google for the perpetrator's hideout and those punks had...

Youtube To Be Televised Soon

YouTube, the colossal video site with a scale owned by Google, is going to be on our screens soon. They will be channeled and televised whilst maintaining their presence online. Youtube before Google's acquisition, started off as a small video sharing site founded by a trio, who were ex-staffs of Paypal; Steve Chen, Chad Hurley and Jawed Karim. This decision was made taking into consideration the daily frequency of Youtube users. Good move. “Our average user spends 15 minutes a day on the...

Carmen In the House!

Carmen is in the house today! No, not Carmen Electra or any two-legged walking Carmens, I am referring to Wordpress 2.9 codename 'Carmen' (aww, sexay)! Its time to upgrade again folks! I have upgraded all my Wordpress powered blogs to 2.9 today and all is fine, except some minor glitches. First of all, after you have upgraded it, some of you might be presented with this error:- "Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLPROTO_FILE cannot be activated when in safe_mode or an...

Mozilla’s Ally is The French Army

Everyone knows that Microsoft is an overrated bully in the computing world, and to have the French army siding a contender, Mozilla is really an inspiring thing that shows non-Microsoft products are at par with Microsoft's that even a defense force as big (and professional) as French army had so much confidence in Mozilla's email client. At least for Mozilla, a long standing believer in open source, their efforts had paid off eventually by having a strong ally on their side. Thunderbird has...

Google Wave is One Hell of A Tidal

Google Wave is one hell of a tidal, yes indeed. I got mine today, thanks to some cybermates. And now I got few invites to spare. Who wants one, just follow up the comments below and insert your gmail details. Wave is more phenomenal than Gmail as far as I remembered. GW was 'sent' to rule the social networking arena soon, battering Facebook to the floor. Let's see how these two giants battle each other from supremacy. Still, it is too early to judge as I am still residing comfortably with...

Google’s New Interface

I frequent Google everyday for my searches and researches and I am a big fan of Google products. Today I have discovered from some tech blogs that Google had a new interface. I was abit skeptical at the beginning as this used to be a rumour before. It seems like Google really did a make-over on their search engine interface making it fast-loading thus streamlining the performance. This is good news. Nevertheless, I still find Google persisted to be the most streamlined search engine in...

Office 2010 For Free?

To be honest, I am not a big fan of Microsoft products. I have long ditched IE before anyone else. I opted for Open Office and ditched Office 2007 too. The only problem comes to actually sharing (files) them with friends and contacts; majority of them uses MS Office. So like it or not, I got to have a working copy in my PC for bowing down to the majority's sake. Well, enough of bitching MS Office, I am going to actually talk good about MS Office on this one. For ya'll to know, the much...

How to Solve Magento Login Issues

I was in the midst of testing Magento as required by a client as my 'offered' expertise in Wordpress and Joomla does not tally with the client's requirement of a solid ecommerce package. Wordpress win hands down for the best experience in blogging with superb SEO capabilities and Joomla excel in being a versatile CMS minus the SEO aspects of it, but both platform does not suit my clients' ecommerce needs. After scouring around for a number of ecommerce packages, I then decided to get down...

Joomla 1.5 Custom CHMOD File

My web hosting has recently upgraded their facilities. Upgrades is a good thing, and that shows how well the company is willing to advance themselves in catering their clients by equipping themselves with the latest technology. At times big guys like these may have forgotten - forgotten to fiddle their settings. Mainly this issues arise can be traced back to the person behind the panel's professionalism, whether he understood ftp permissions or not. As webmasters CHMOD is a big thing for us,...
