Tokina 17mm AT-X 17 AF PRO

Well, what can I say about Tokina 17mm AT-X 17? I admit I bought this in a whim via eBay when desperately finding a wide angle for my gear. Since Canon is damn pricey, I cannot afford to buy it. At the beginning I have no idea about the existence of this brand, Tokina. Only after buying it from eBay and did some reading about it I realise this underdog brand is pretty credible in their products. Based on the reviews I read from Fred Miranda's blog, almost every Tokina lens was rated high....

Canon 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM

Canon has made multiple EF 28-105mm lens models and 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM is one of them. I got this unit out of curiosity for a measly £91. This lens had a good build and good optical quality features. All these for an affordable bargain. This lens should not be confused with another discontinued, much-lower-end, 28-105mm f/4.0-5.6 USM. Both of them are very different in the build aspects. This lens is the modest in weight and providing comfort for use. The unit had a metal mount,...

PPM Chaos

Malaysian scouting has been infiltrated by unwelcomed 'partisan forces'. The friction between two parties has escalated from federal (HQ) level to state level. In Perak, there were factions who are pro and against the new leadership. All these chaos causes all scouting activities to be put on a halt. These haywire frustrated everyone including me. Shafie should just go! ‘No confidence’ in scout chief KUALA LUMPUR: The Scouts Association of Malaysia has moved a resolution for a vote...

Mount Edgecumbe Photo Shoot

After a series of drizzle yesterday, we thought that we are not going to make it to this outing. Luckily it was sunny and me and SL hurried to the jetty from town via citybus. On the horizon crossing the channel we can see dark clouds, but on our Devon side, it was still bright and sunny. Upon reaching Cremyll we took the long lane through the garden public footpath. The lane leads to the mansion, and that is where i fired few shots of the avenue with shady trees. We proceeded to the farm...

Canon 35-135mm f4-5.6

Honestly speaking, I bought this lens is because of curiosity and the 'classic' feel that it had to offer. This telephoto zoom lens is another rare discontinued lens that I have swept from ebay and this haul is merely experimental as I was curious what 'oldies' like these could do and perform. What can I say about this one? It is pretty heavy but solid to begin with however it was quite versatile and an excellent performer in capturing crisp images. The colors are vivid and contain fantastic...

Proud of Perak

I felt jubilant as Perak was taken over by opposition as this is the moment that we all have been waiting for. I am just happen to share the same sentiments with my fellow statesmen and countrymen. Makal sakthi to all, may Perak will live prosperously with it's soon-to-be formed Pakatan Rakyat coalition! Here's a snippet from The Star about the new formation of Perak government; IPOH: The state DAP, PAS and PKR leaders will seek an audience with the Sultan of Perak Sultan Azlan Shah on...

Venturing into photography is fun and challenging.
